Looks like this has been 100% confirmed by Nintendo. In a statement issued to CVG, Nintendo confirmed that Future Publishing would indeed be ceasing publication of Nintendo Power. The last issue is scheduled for December 2012.
If you’re subscription extends past December 2012, you are urged to contact Nintendo Power using their customer service page.
I guess this is the last nail in the coffin.

A report from Ars Technica states that Nintendo Power will soon cease to exist according to their source. While it hasn’t been 100% confirmed yet, it appears that Future Publishing already informed the NP staff of upcoming changes as early as last week.
Nintendo Power has been a staple for gamers since 1988, so to hear of it’s sudden cancellation is a bit saddening.
While earlier issues are without a shadow of doubt remembered more fondly, issues like number 260 (NES 25th Anniversary Tribute) are hard to ignore.
While the print edition may be dead, it’s always possible to see a digital revival of some sort. Regardless, here’s to 24 amazing years of the clues you can use, Nintendo Power!
