Two Tribes as it once was has disappeared. What does that mean exactly? Well, everyone from Two Tribes – except founders Martijn Reuvers and Collin van Ginkel – are gone from the company. However, with the former Two Tribes no longer developing games, a bit of good news has come to light: Two Tribes Publishing B.V. will be unaffected and continue to sell previous Two Tribes games, as well as publish future titles. Also – as the title of this article implies – the development side of Two Tribes is going through a reboot period.
A new daughter company has been formed to develop games under the Two Tribes name. In fact, this company will be re-using the Toki Tori 2+ engine – instead of creating custom tech – to develop their new title with a much smaller team. This new title will be a 2D sidescrolling shooter. The idea behind using the Toki Tori 2+ engine is to use what’s readily available to the company.
We’d like to wish everyone from Two Tribes the best in their future endeavors.

Hugo Smits of Goodbye Galaxy Games is announcing Tappingo, his first Nintendo 3DS eShop project. Tappingo is a unique puzzle game that utilizes touchscreen controls to solve pixel art puzzles.
Tappingo seems to draw inspiration from both Minesweeper and Picross. Players are challenged to fill in missing lines of pixel art puzzles by tapping numbered blocks, which indicates the desired length of the line. The catch in Tappingo is that lines will continue to be drawn until they hit another block. It may be a little difficult to visualize – there is a great explanation over at the official website – but will likely become second nature as you begin playing the game.
Two Tribes has confirmed that Toki Tori will launch on the Wii U on Thursday, November 7. Toki Tori is one of three classic Two Tribes games headed to the Wii U eShop, all of which will be offered at $2 for a limited time.
Also, Two Tribes is offering Wii U owners even more value by giving purchasers of Toki Tori a 60% off discount (just $5.99!) on Toki Tori 2+. This specific deal will only be available for a week.
A new month means new Club Nintendo game rewards are offered to loyal members. This month, gamers can actually get a real Nintendo eShop game for their Nintendo 3DS and not just a DSiWare game being paraded as a “3DS title.” Overall, there’s a nice variety to choose from this month including two retro masterpieces.
All games are being offered until December 8, 2013.
